Alex Moiseev is a seasoned evaluation professional with more than 20 years experience in the fields of international development and conservation, deploying a diverse skill set covering strategic planning, group processes, management and monitoring and evaluation, with a proven track record in delivering tailor-made solutions in challenging and complex organizational contexts.

Alex led IUCN’s Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation functions through four IUCN Programme cycles covering 16 years, including the development of IUCN’s global Programme, global indicators and monitoring strategy. Alex deployed the use of evaluation strategically to improve the overall organizational performance and governance of IUCN, as well as the programmatic performance of many of its regional and thematic programmes. Alex used theory driven approaches (theory of change, logical frameworks) to drive programming, monitoring, learning and evaluation, all of which were documented in the IUCN Project Guidelines and Standards. In the final year of his career at IUCN, Alex deployed IUCN’s first fully populated Programme and Project Portal that contained a fully quantified and baselined set of indicators measuring the progress of the thirty global targets of the IUCN Programme 2017-2020.
